League Cup – Round One
Tuesday 28th October 2025
Cradley Town 1-0 Tividale
Could not have done much more
At times Tividale literally battered the Cradley defence but the home side held out for the win and go through to the next round of the league cup.
Cradley had the first decent chance when Kieron Harrison had to be on his toes to turn away a shot, Tividale then stepped up and Alfie Higgs had a couple of efforts that were off target and at this point they were well on top.
Then in the 32nd minute out of nowhere Cradley’s Marsh hit a 20 yard cracker that beat Harrison all ends up. Tividale continued to press for the remainder of the half and despite a few penalty area scrambles, Cradley held firm
Half Time – Cradley Town 1-0 Tividale
The second half started as the first ended with Tividale pushing forward but leaving themselves open for the counter.
As the away team poured forward Cradley were saved by the post and had two cleared off the line within 2 minutes. Cradley were now throwing their bodies on the line to keep their clean sheet, while you just knew it wasn’t going to be Tividale’s night and it was summed up when deep into injury time the Cradley keeper pulled off a tremendous one handed save to deny Tividale again
In the end there will always be nights like this and sometimes it is on the other foot (Our win with 9 men away at Lye Town for example)
Full Time – Cradley Town 1-0 Tividale
