Match Preview – Worcester City

Midland Football League
Premier Division
Tividale FC v Worcester City FC
Saturday 26th October 2019
Kick off at 3:00pm

Its been a good week for us. Admittedly we were disappointed in dropping two points last Saturday against Coventry United by conceding an equaliser deep into injury time. But the performance itself was outstanding.

We then took that performance level onto Tuesday night to higher league Sutton Coldfield Town and on their 3G pitch, and it was our goal after 7 minutes that was enough to send us into the next round of the Birmingham Senior Cup.

We have made a couple of additions this week. Highly respected young coach Craig Love has joined our boot room as first team coach. It was his tremendous work at Dudley Town and Lye Town that put him on our radar and we have got our man. Also young right sided player Joseph Burroughs has agreed to join our ranks from Black Country Rangers.

Worcester have had a bit of a mixed bag start to their season so far. In the league they seem to have struggled, winning just 1 in their last 6. Yet in cup competitions they are flying, winning their three FA Vase games so far this season, scoring 10 goals and yet to concede and only bowing out of the FA Cup to league leaders Heather St John by the one goal to nil. So lets hope they haven’t got their cup heads on

Prior to kick off we will honour the 2nd anniversary of Tividale’s own Princess, Maddy Box Poole gaining her wings with a minute’s applause to celebrate her short life.

As Worcester City were a Conference side up to 3 season’s ago before their well recorded financial problems. This is the first time the two teams have met in our recent history
