Tividale 0-2 Winsford United
Deserved Nothing
Four days after we went down fighting to a last kick sucker punch. We produced what was possibly our worst performance of the season. With Kiran Harrison on holiday and Brad Maslen-Jones injured we had lost two of our most experienced and influential players but that was no excuse for this horror show.
It was nice to have our visitors heap praise on our warm welcome and hospitality, but that was nothing to how giving we were on the pitch.
Winsford took the lead on 8 minutes when a punt up field from keeper Jacob Kirwan was met by Elliott Coleman who was a mile offside and the assistant raised his flag and then put it down to the frustration of the home defence. but we still should have dealt with the chest down for Ryan Jackson to poke the ball home.
Tividale rode their luck in the 17th minutes when another long ball was handled by Tividale’s Eddie Rann but the referee only showed a yellow card.
On 40 minutes Connor Hooks just failed to get on the end of a Matthew Birchall corner. But 3 minutes later it was Hooks himself who doubled the Winsford lead when his deflected shot beat Thomas Hipkiss making his debut in goal.
