Tividale 9-0 Wyrley

Tividale up to the Nines

Last season we went out of the JW Hunt Cup at this stage and against this same side. Who can forget last season’s encounter when we toiled for 90 minutes and with the scores level at 2-2 and heading for penalties, keeper Louis Connor’s unfortunate slip when he came out to pump the ball back up field and the ball rolled under his foot and into his net.

Well, this game was always going to be different with the attitude of this squad.

With no game for 10 days and a weekend visit to high flying 1874 Northwich. Manager Phil Rann decided to put a fairly strong squad out with just the couple of personnel changes to the side that lost 1-0 to Alvechurch last time out. In came Jamie Hunt and Lewis Derrick, replacing Callum Lloyd and Jason Wood.

Tividale started brightly and were ahead after just 13 minutes. Ryan Piggott with a sublime finish into the far corner beating Wyrley keeper Mark Wiggins all end’s up. Delaney made it 2-0 on 25 minutes with the clinical finish, slotting under Wiggins.

Wyrley had a half chance on the hour but it was 3-0 after 33 minutes. A break from the home side and Piggott is there again, one on one with Wiggins and he puts it past the keeper. Tom Cottam made it 4-0 in the 42nd minute when he was given way too much room in the centre of the goal and he turned on the penalty spot and put the ball past Wiggins.

Half Time:- Tividale 4-0 Wyrley

The half was only 5 minutes old when Delaney is found at the back post for an easy tap in to make it 5-0. The game became a little disjointed as a raft of substitutions were mad and it was not until the 77th minute before Tividale found the net again. A Wyrley defensive mix up left substitute Aon Mohammed Abbas in the clear and he finishes with conviction to make it 6-0.

Two minutes later and it was 7-0. Good work again from Abbas and his low shot, come cross across the 6 yard box, took a deflection off a defender and past the hapless Wiggins.

Another substitute and debutant Nehemia Zazi showed his goal scoring instinct with a cool finish under Wiggins on 81 minutes and then three minutes later another sub Ezekiel Agyemang got in on the act  to make it 9-0.
